With the rise of online shopping, shipping boxes are entering households at a very high frequency. In China, the average household receives about seven shipping boxes per week, while in the United States the number is also as high as four to six per week. After fulfilling their role in transportation, these boxes are usually discarded quickly and become single-use waste.
